T-Ball (4K/K) Boys/Girls
T-ball is for boys and girls currently in 4K and Kindergarten. T-Ball is an introductory program to Baseball/Softball which focuses on basic skill development, fundamentals and having fun. Players will get an opportunity to practice fundamentals as well as experience/learn game-like situations. Kids will focus on hitting the ball off of the tee as well as fielding different positions. Please visit the T-Ball tab on the menu for more information.
Machine Pitch (1st & 2nd Grade)
Machine pitch softball is for girls currently enrolled in 1st or 2nd grade where the ball is thrown via machine for a safer, more consistent pitch. The goal of the program is to provide an enjoyable, positive environment in which participants learn the fundamentals of softball. Success should be measured by the improvements in each player's skills and knowledge of softball.
Softball (3rd-12th grade)
The Central St. Croix Rec Program offers an opportunity to play in a traveling league and a recreational league for girls in 3rd grade through 12th grade.
Teams will be determined through assessments in early February. Playing in the traveling league versus the recreational league is based on how many girls register to play softball and overall skill level in each age group.
For the Tri County traveling league, team practice will start April. Practice times will vary based on field availability and age level. Each age level has double-header games two nights per week from 5/1to 7/12. Game nights vary by age level. Each team will play in a tournament of their choice, a state qualifier tourney, and a state tourney. Weeknight games are within a 60 mile radius. The league scheduler tries to keep weeknight games as close to home as possible, i.e. Baldwin, Hudson, Woodbury. We have an equal amount of home games and away games. The state qualifier tournament and state tournament are within a 90 mile radius with your tourney location based on your league standing.
The Western Wisconsin In-House league practices begin in May. Practice times will vary based on field availability and age level. Each team has one 60-minute game twice per week. Some nights will have practice instead of a game. Weeknight games are often in North Hudson, may also be in Baldwin. We will host several home games. Each team will play in the end of season league tourney in Hudson.
