Program Descriptions

Baseball at Central St. Croix Rec is broken up into different levels based on the age of your child.  As the child gets older it is also broken up on level of competitiveness.  You can click on the appropriate section in the menu for more information.

T-Ball (4K/K) Co-ed (4K, Tuesday; K, Thursday)

T-ball is for boys and girls currently in 4K and Kindergarten. T-Ball is an introductory program to Baseball/Softball which focuses on basic skill development, fundamentals and having fun. Players will get an opportunity to practice fundamentals as well as experience/learn game-like situations.  Kids will focus on hitting the ball off of the tee as well as fielding different positions.

Machine Pitch (1st & 2nd Grade) (Monday and Wednesday)

Machine pitch baseball is for boys currently enrolled in 1st or 2nd grade where the ball is thrown via machine for a safer, more consistent pitch. The goal of the program is to provide an enjoyable, positive environment in which participants learn the fundamentals of baseball. Success should be measured by the improvements in each player's skills and knowledge of baseball.

In-House (3rd through 8th Grade)

U10 (Tuesday and Thursday)

U12 (Monday and Wednesday)

A recreational baseball league for boys in 3rd through 8th grade.  Pitching and base stealing are added at this level. An umpire calls balls and strikes. The goal of the program is to provide a positive environment in which participants enjoy playing baseball and continue to improve skills.

Metro (U10 through U14)

A competitive baseball league for boys up to age 14.  Pitching and base stealing are added at this level and an umpire calls balls and strikes. The goal of the program is to provide a positive environment in which participants enjoy playing baseball and continue to improve skills but would prefer to play more competitively against like minded teams. Age cut off to be eligible to play U10 metro is May 1st.
