Hello CSCR Families!
As you know, the Rec Board has been meeting frequently to stay on top of the latest sporting developments during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is the current status of our spring sports:
METRO BASEBALL and TRI-COUNTY SOFTBALL - Effective Thursday, May 21, our Metro Baseball and Tri-County Softball teams will be allowed to have optional practices up to twice a week. We will be following the "Back to the Diamond" guidelines our leagues have put together for practices including but not limited to social distancing, sanitation, no sharing of equipment, and participant/spectator limitations. For more information on the guidelines we will be working with, please visit: https://cdn2.sportngin.com/attachments/document/5e9d-2157060/SafetyGuidelinesFinal.pdf
Please note, these guidelines are still being drafted and are subject to change. The guidelines have not been approved by the state of Minnesota nor formally adopted by the CSCR Board. We are using them as a temporary starting place and will continue to monitor the situation, in order to make the best decision(s) for our community and players.
Further more, practices will be optional. Opting to not participate in practice at this point in time will not be detrimental to your player. Board members may be present at practices to ensure all safety guidelines are being strictly enforced.
IN-HOUSE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL, 8U and T-BALL: At this time, In-House Baseball and Softball, 8U, and T-Ball seasons are on hold.
We would like to stress that the Spring 2020 season is not yet cancelled nor is it yet considered playable. If we are able to proceed with our seasons, we can expect a great deal of rules and regulations to be in place to ensure safety for our players and possible spectators. That being said, we would like to make sure our players and their families are free to make the decision that is right for them regarding participation. Please do not hesitate to bring any concerns or questions to the Board by emailing us at email@example.com.
We will continue to update our community as we receive more information.
